Philosophy
It is my firm conviction that in most cases, given the chance and the right information, the body/mind can heal itself.
Through Chiropractic studies we learn that aligning the spine alleviates nerve interference and irritation, enabling the nervous system to work more efficiently, thereby minimizing pain and increasing strength and mobility. Through Nutritional studies we learn that proper diet and nutrients enhance natural function, improving cellular performance of all cells: endocrine, gastrointestinal, immune, and so on. Through studying Lifestyle Modification we learn that exercise, proper sleep, stress reduction and a positive attitude are essential for optimal health and happiness.
All too often when one's system is not functioning optimally, such as with high blood lipids, high blood pressure, high blood sugar, indigestion, pain or depression, one turns to medication. But it is not likely that one has a Lipitor, Lisinopril, Metformin, Prilosec, ibuprofen or Zoloft deficiency.
We live in a "you fix me" culture. I believe this is potentially very dangerous when it comes to our health. Medications do not come without side effects, and many times are only a short-term solution masking a long-term problem.
The old adage "knowledge is power" holds true. Participation in one's healing process is not only empowering, but extremely effective.
As a healer, I strive to help you heal yourself. I have the tools and the know-how, but we share the work. I am a dedicated coach, but you're the player - and we're both in it to win!
